Superior installation process Plywood substrates will expand and contract with differences in humidity thus making the substrate unstable. This movement along with the oils in the wood being released will compromise the bond between the adhesive and the substrate. In contrast, when a cement substrate which is stable under humid conditions is utilize and thin-set cement is used to attach the tile, the entire floor essentially becomes one solid slab
