| About Crew 2727
The adult committees
of Troop 27 and Crew 2727 have come to an agreement on a working schedule
for joint meetings. Typically, Crew 2727 will meet on the third and fourth
Friday of each month. At the week three meeting the Crew will decide on a
Scout skill, activity or demonstration for Troop 27's next meeting. We will
need Crew members to organize the meeting, acquire supplies and put together
the program. The week four meeting will be jointly held with Troop 27. Crew
members will run the meeting, work with the younger Scouts and pass down
our well honed skills. All Crew youth members are required to make both Crew
meetings. Remember, all time spent with the Crew will be applied to your
troop 27 rank requirements. This close working relationship between Crew
2727 and Troop 27 will allow more time for the Troop leadership to plan and
organize a quality program as set forth by Boy Scouts of America.

Mission
The vision of
Crew 2727 is to stay mobile utilizing ultra lightweight
personal gear on low impact high adventure trips including: backpacking,
canoeing, kayaking, hiking and cycling. With Crew 2727's B.S.A. trained
and field experienced adult leadership and young men, your Scouting career
will take a turn in a direction that many scouts never experience. In order
to keep dues at a minimum all members will need quality lightweight
personal gear, and the will to explore the outdoors, safely pushing
themselves
to their personal limits. We plan to have monthly conditioning trips and
seasonal high adventure trips to test our skills.
Self discipline, self reliance and self respect! The Crew is ready... Are
you? |

Structure
The structure
of the Crew consists of a youth leadership corp and an adult committee.
Crew leadership positions are applied toward Troop rank requirements. Many
times a
troop member will be held back from advancing in Boy Scout rank simply because
there
are no leadership positions open.
This is a great way for crew members to fast track in rank.
